STYLE RESTORATION

Hello again!

It's been quite a while since I've posted. Unfortunately, I can't give any particular good reason, but I'm re-devoting my time to fashion, style, & my reputation as a blogger. 2013 is going to be a good year!

I recently underwent a nice change in style through a new haircut. After a marathon spree of dying my hair, ombre, green, & purple, it was time to settle down and pick to a new style....Of course though, I had to stay true to my roots, I'm still a fiery redhead.

Certain trends from last year are following me into this year. I'm still leaning on the darker side of fashion so another part of my New Year's Resolution was to budget better so I can buy the quality pieces I've been lusting after for months now. UNIF, Blackmilk, Nasty Gal, here I come.

This is going to be cut short, but look forward to more awesome posts in the near future!

Happy (Late) New Year, everyone!!

Thank you, Fashion Gods!

Did my last post read as a prayer to the fashion gods? Could it have been some divine style intervention? Do I have a fashion guardian angel?

These are the questions I have been asking myself, lately. By some form of style magic, I managed to happen upon not 1, not 2, but yes, 3 pairs of booties. Overkill? Maybe. However, now I am fully equipped with 3 different booties and I know how to use them!

First of all, I stumbled up on the replacement for my black booties. With that being my whole shopping goal, I didn't expect much more. I was completely content with these:

Xhilaration Solana Lace-Up
Retail: $34.99
Second-hand: $7.95

Now comparatively, these new wedges are about an inch & a half or two inches taller than my others. So either I'm getting a lot more ballsy, or I'm completely underestimating the difficulty I may have walking in them. Either way, I'm in love and I can't deny it.

After I finished flipping out over the coincidental find after I just blogged about them, these babies were sitting right there in the next aisle.

Xhilaration Susan Hiker
Retail: $39.99
Second-hand: $7.95

Amazing, right? Up close, they are glittery and kind of resemble a galaxy print. I started calling them my "moon boots" and I can't wait to plan an outfit around them.

Dolce Vita for Target
Second-hand: $12.00

I have been eyeing these shoes for a while now at my job. I work at a second-hand store so we are constantly getting in clothing, but these boots have been stuck in my head since May. Though the two pairs above definitely fit my current, intense fashion taste, I wanted something more casual.

These are the perfect dress up or dress down boots. I see me wearing these with skinnies, a basic T, leather jacket and with little effort, looking like a total badass. On the other hand, I have so many dresses that will soften the look of the hardware.

The best part is that today is rainy and a little chilly so I'm going to take full advantage and rock a pair of them today!

(NEVER) TOO MUCH BOOTIE

The impending season change has got me completely stoked for Fall fashion. Being off work for 2 days with this dreary, rainy weather has me ready to rock scarves, socks, layers and my favorite fall accessory: BOOTIES!

I posted back in February the black wedge booties I got for my birthday. Unfortunately for them, they barely lasted through the summer (they became my official "going out" shoes), and have definitely seen better says. Now, my goal is to find some great replacements. I've added these Mossimo wedge booties to my collection.

Though they aren't black, I love the pop of color, and they go so well with my closet. The only issue that slightly bothers me is they are almost the exact same color as my hair & people never fail to point it out! But they are perfect for Fall so I will take Tim Gunn's advice and make it work.

Since I've been on the hunt for a perfect black pair, I've managed to come across a plethora of booties, in all shapes & colors. This making finding a basic black pair waaaay more difficult, because I just want to wear all of these.

Bethanie Beige Suedette Studded Wedge Shoe Boot

Blink Maraa Heavy Metallic Glitter
$69.99

Muse Ankle Boot
$58

Zara Basic Ankle Boot
$100

Asos Vincent Flatform
$77

TOMS Desert Wedge in Chestnut Suede
$89

I've barely even scratched the surface of all the beautiful booties I stumbled across. I can't lie, I am majorly obsessed with those ASOS booties. Flatforms, platforms, any form really, I'm all about it. I'll take all the height I can get!

Not to mention, the best part is they are all $100 or less. Perfect for the fashionista on a budget. Plus, I'm always willing to spend the extra money on a pair of shoes if I know they are worth it (or if I want them bad enough).

Bring it on, Fall!

I know it's been a while since I've posted. To be quite honest, July was a rough month for me, but now I'm back and ready to fill your brain with the best Fall trends.

Recently, my little Pearl got fixed (her poor lady bits), so I had to chance to really sit down, relax, and browse the upcoming seasonal trends.

All I have to say is...

PRADA.

Holy mountain! This is a beautiful collection.
There are really no words, just enjoy.

Plus, I cannot even begin to explain to you guys how tired I am of picking out cute outfits in my nice air conditioned apartment, then stepping outside and immediately melting. OVER IT.

Any fall trends you're excited about?
What has been your favorite collection so far?

designer obsession: Maurizio Taiuti

Since I've spent the majority of my money funds this past month on moving into my new apartment, I treated myself to some window shopping at TJ Maxx the other day. Of course, that is not that place to go for window shopping because naturally, I fell
in love with some of the most expensive pieces in the store.

Purses.

Michael Kors, Betsey Johnson, L.A.M.B., I was in heaven.

But the best part of being in purse utopia was discovering this adorable floral cross body bag!
I was sold.

I've never heard of the designer Maurizio Taiuti before so duh, I came home to Google and find out as much as possible.

All genuine leather purses, made in Italy, and the variety of styles was endless!

*FAVE

The only issue I seemed to have was finding websites to purchase these purses (besides Ebay). I suppose that means I will just have to check back at TJ Maxx more often! That's just too bad.

If you like what you saw in this post, check out Maurizio Taiuti website for more designs & styles!

COLOR BLOCKHEAD

There is a small second hand store about two blocks away from my apartment with a color block dress in the window. I have driven past it every day for the past week and imagined how awesome it would fit me, how the mustard yellow and grass green would both compliment my hair, and where I could possible wear it.

 Today, it was gone.

And guys, I am having serious withdrawl.

Basically, if you took the cut of this dress:

Plus the pattern of this painting:

Piet Mondrian

And replace red and blue with green and darken the yellow, and you get the color block dress of my dreams.

I know, I know, that was probably the worst description especially since I was hoping to give a good enough visual for someone to comment saying, "Oh, I know exactly what you are talking about and here is the link to buy it!" Sadly, I know that won't be the case. But I won't give up, I'm on the hunt for the perfect color block dress & here are a few I like:

designer obsession: Matthew Williamson

Sometimes I find a designer I love so much, I spend hours daydreaming of a closet filled with their designs. Matthew Williamson quickly became on of those designers.

Ok, so upon further investigation, I'm just extremely late to the game on this one. Not only has this man dressed some of my favorite celebrities like M.I.A. and Kelis, but he has a collaboration with H&M!

I am dying.

Granted, the H&M line is 3 years old now, I just can't believe I haven't heard of him before. My best guess is because it's extremely most of his designs are waaaaay out of my price range, but just take a minute to get lost &

So, you get the point. He is an amazing designer with a brilliant way of mixing futuristic and retro elements to make pieces that are insanely visually pleasing. However, I'm sure you noticed the hefty price tag. Not to mention, if wore any of this in Small Town, USA I'd get more crazy stares than I already do. That's why I was so thrilled that the H&M collab is more street appropriate but since it came out a few years ago, I'm having a hard time finding pieces!

Any of you lovely fashionistas out there have any information on where I could buy some of the Matthew Williamson x H&M collaboration?
